Introduction
Blender AI documentation: how prompt-driven 3D generation, scene editing, rendering and Python scripting work inside Blender.
What is Blender AI?
Blender AI is a prompt-driven assistant that works inside Blender. Describe the model you need in plain language and it creates editable geometry in your current scene, then keeps going: materials, cameras, lighting, Python scripts and animation.
Unlike a standalone text to 3D web app, the result is not a locked mesh you have to import. It is ordinary Blender data - vertices, modifiers, materials - that you can cut, bevel, unwrap, rig and export.
What you can do here
- Text to 3D - generate props, characters, furniture and architecture from a description
- Scene editing - repair topology, rename and organise objects, batch-assign materials
- Rendering - block a shot, place lights and cameras, then iterate before the final pass
- Python automation - turn repeated work into scripts you can also run headless
- Animation - drive camera moves and simple object motion from a prompt
Before you start
You need Blender installed. Blender AI edits, renders and exports inside a real Blender session, so the file you work on stays a .blend that you own.
- Install Blender and open the project you want to work on
- Create an account and connect the assistant
- Describe the object, the style and the scale
- Check the topology before you rig or animate
Where to go next
- What is Blender AI? - the concept and where it is strong
- Text to 3D workflow - prompts, topology, scale, export
- Python scripting - automate the repetitive half of the work
- Render workflow - lighting, cameras, EEVEE versus Cycles
