A prompt surface inside Blender
Instead of switching to a browser, you describe the asset where the scene lives and watch the result appear in the viewport.
The Blender AI plugin puts an AI assistant inside Blender itself: describe an asset, get editable geometry in the open scene, then retopologise, texture and export without leaving the file you are already working in.

Four things, and only the first is generation. The other three are the maintenance work that eats an afternoon.
Instead of switching to a browser, you describe the asset where the scene lives and watch the result appear in the viewport.
The assistant can see what is already there: your units, your collections, the object you selected, the camera you blocked.
Topology repair, vertex reduction, material assignment, batch renaming and export prep are all prompts rather than manual passes.
Anything repetitive becomes a script you can read, edit and run headless later - the same automation discipline as a studio toolchain.
The setup is deliberately short - no render farm, no local GPU requirement, no plugin marketplace hunt:

One prompt equals one generation request, and the allowance resets at the start of every billing month. A request that fails is returned to your balance rather than counted against you, which matters when a prompt is a bad fit for the model.
Plans differ in three ways beyond volume: queue priority, output quality, and how much scene context a request can carry. Starter is for single assets, Pro adds a faster queue and higher quality, Premium adds priority speed and batch scene generation for continuous production work.

It is the Blender-side part of Blender AI: a prompt surface that lets an AI assistant create and edit 3D content in your open scene. You describe an object, the assistant generates editable geometry, and everything after that is normal Blender work.
Treat Blender 4.2 or newer as the baseline. That is the LTS line, and it is what the scripting and export examples in the documentation assume.
Yes - one Blender AI account, created with Google sign-in. Plans are attached to that account, and the prompt allowance is shared across everything you do with it.
Starter is $9 a month for 100 prompts, Pro is $19 for 200 prompts with a faster queue and higher quality output, and Premium is $49 for 800 prompts with priority speed and batch generation. Annual billing saves 17%.
Generation runs against a model service, which means prompts and the context needed to place geometry are sent for processing. Your working file stays on your machine, and you should avoid putting client-confidential names into prompts.
That works too. Topology passes, vertex reduction, material assignment and export preparation are all available as single requests rather than requiring a full generation run first.
